Medical termination of pregnancy using MTP Kit

Medical termination of pregnancy with the help of MTP Kit. It is also called Abortion kit comes with combination of Mifepristone and Misoprostol. It is an alternative to surgical abortion. It has five pills one pill of Mifepristone 200 mg and four pills of Misoprostol 200 mcg. This combination is used to terminate unwanted pregnancy. It is effective for early pregnancy of nine week.
Abortion pills are not an Emergency Contraception Pills. Emergency Contraception Pills are use to prevent pregnancy and should be taken within 72 hours after unprotected sex.

How to use MTP Kit:

Before using Mtp kit one should confirm about her pregnancy. If pregnancy test is positive then only you can use it. Mifepristone 200mg should be taken orally with a glass of water and Misoprostol 200 mcg should be taken vaginally and it is important that Misoprostol should be taken after 1 to 3 days after taking Mifepristone.
After abortion visit your doctor to confirm pregnancy has finishes by clinical examination of ultrasonography.

How it work:

Mifepristone is anti progesterone which works by the activity of endogenous or exogenous progesterone and hence pregnancy terminates.
Misoprostol (cytotec) is used to prevent gastric ulcers. It is also induces uterine contractions that often used off-label as abortion pills for pregnancy termination.

Dosage:

Concern your physician before using the Kit. You should to use the pills according to directions for getting most of the advantage from the treatment.

Should not take mtp kit:

• It should not be given to those women who are hypersensitive to Mifepristone or Misoprostol or any other ingredient of MTP kit.
• Adrenal impairment.
• Inherited porphyriaTop of Form.
• Asthma.
• Renal (kidney) or Hepatic (liver) disorder.
• If the patient is using IUD
• Anemia or Hemorrhagic disorders.
• Ectopic pregnancy
